How AiroSignal finds and checks airport opportunities
AiroSignal is built on public information: procurement portals, funding databases, airport and authority websites, planning registers and aviation news. What we add is the collection across dozens of sources, the checks, and the matching to what you sell.
This page is the reference for how that works, so you can judge how far to rely on a number before you act on it.

Where the data comes from
- check_circle25+ procurement portals and funding sources, checked every day: TED, national portals in Europe, UK Find a Tender and Contracts Finder, SAM.gov and US federal grant and contract data, Bonfire airport portals, CanadaBuys, PNCP, SECOP II, AusTender, GeBIZ, Hong Kong Airport Authority awards, and the World Bank, IFC, IDB and other development banks
- check_circleAbout 20 airport and authority websites we watch directly
- check_circleAviation and regional news, for the early signals that no portal carries: funding decisions, master plans, approvals
What happens to each item
- check_circleIt is checked for aviation relevance; items that are not about airport work stay off the public pages
- check_circleIt is classified by type (live tender, prior notice, market consultation, supplier registration, project signal, funding signal, contract award) and status (open, upcoming, signal, awarded, closed)
- check_circleFacts are taken from the source where it states them: value and currency, what the value covers (a whole programme, a project or one contract), project phase, owner, expected tender date and incumbent supplier
- check_circleIt is matched to an airport by that airport's own name, as whole words; a passing mention in a summary does not count
- check_circleRepeat coverage of one story counts once, and items with nothing to pursue (route launches, drills, traffic results) are left out of the public pages
How the airport pages count
- check_circleEach airport and country page covers the last 12 months
- check_circleActive means a tender or notice that is still open or upcoming, or a signal from the last 90 days
- check_circleAn airport gets a page in search results from 5 tracked items, a country from 10; without an active item, a page needs 8
- check_circleThe largest known value is only shown when it comes from an official notice or a second source; whole-programme totals are labelled as such
- check_circleSources are checked daily and the pages refresh every six hours
What the public pages do not show
Source links, summaries and match scores are part of the free briefing. The public pages show the title, type, status, dates and value of each item, so anyone can see what is happening at an airport without signing up.
Known limits
Tender coverage is deepest in Europe and North America. In the Middle East, Africa and much of Asia, airports often publish on their own supplier portals or not at all, so there we rely more on news, development-bank data and airport websites.
Most news-based signals date from May 2026 onwards, when the current collection started, so twelve-month counts are partly shorter in practice. Values are reported as the source states them and are not audited. Always check the official notice before you bid.

Be an early member: AiroSignal is free for the first 100 sign-ups, and low-cost after that, a fraction of the price of the big tender databases.
AiroSignal tracks live airport tenders and the early signals that come before them (funding decisions, board approvals and expansion plans), so you can be first, not last.
